EBBD Conference 2025 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Tilburg, Netherlands
This years’ edition of the EBBD Annual Training Event took place in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Tilburg! We were warmly welcomed by Koning Willem I College and De Rooi Pannen.
Over 60 representatives, mostly from EBBD colleges, took part. Representatives from all nine countries, in which EBBD is offered where there, along with interested parties from Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Norway.
Every year, it is a great pleasure to reconnect with dedicated educators from across Europe.
The event focused on innovation, sustainability, and democracy—core elements of the EBBD programme. Through interactive workshops and digital input sessions, participants explored the European competence frameworks using the innovative Scaffold, a deck of cards to design competence-oriented learning experiences.
The blended training session delivered by Olena Bekh empowered participants to integrate these frameworks more effectively into their teaching. Even though she guided the training online, her energy and expertise were tangible!
A key milestone was the accreditation of Lycée Charles Péguy—the first French college to join the EBBD network. This moment was met with heartfelt applause and marked an important step towards greater European integration in vocational education.
In addition, Kia Likitalo introduced the concept of European Digital Credentials and Micro-Credentials, giving us a glimpse into the digital future of EBBD certification.
Equally inspiring were the contributions from EBBD students and alumni, who reflected on their learning journey and provided valuable input on how to further develop our programmes in terms of skills development, sustainability, intercultural awareness, and democratic education.

Together, we continue to shape EBBD as a recognised, innovative, and truly European certificate in vocational education and training.
